Contest terms

InterFiRank contest terms

What you are agreeing to when you enter a competition — eligibility, the account we create, what proctoring records and for how long, prizes and tax, and what happens if something goes wrong.

These are the terms, not the rules

How the competition itself works — marking, tie-breaks, integrity thresholds, what a joint rank does to a prize — is on the rules page. What your machine has to do is on the exam guide.

1. Who these terms are between

  • •InterFiRank is operated by InterviewFi. Entering an InterFiRank competition means you accept these terms and the rules published at /interfirank/rules. Where the two ever disagree, the rules govern how the competition is run and these terms govern everything else.
  • •An individual event may add its own conditions — an eligibility restriction, a sponsor's requirement — but no event condition can override a clause here.
  • •These terms may change between competitions. The version that applies to you is the one in force when you registered, and it is recorded against your registration.

2. Entry is free, and it creates an account

  • •Entry is free. We do not charge to enter a competition, and we will not introduce an entry fee retrospectively for an event that is already open.
  • •Registering creates a free InterviewFi candidate account in your name if you do not already have one. This is stated on the registration form itself, not only here: the account is how you reach your results, your report, your certificate and any prize claim, so it is part of what you are signing up for rather than a side effect.
  • •You must register as yourself, using an email address you control. One person, one account, one entry per competition.
  • •You can delete your InterviewFi account at any time. Deleting it removes your identity photo and withdraws you from any competition that has not yet started; published results and issued certificates for competitions you already sat are retained, because a leaderboard others were ranked against cannot be silently rewritten.

3. Eligibility

  • •You must be old enough to hold an InterviewFi account in your country and to accept these terms on your own behalf.
  • •Public competitions are open to anyone who can meet the technical requirements published on the exam guide. Closed competitions are open only to people an organiser has invited.
  • •Prizes may be restricted by geography for reasons outside our control — gift-card availability and local promotion law both vary. Any such restriction is published on the event page before registration opens, never applied afterwards.
  • •InterviewFi employees and contractors, and anyone with access to unpublished question content, may enter for practice but are not prize-eligible.

4. Proctoring, and what we actually record

  • •Competitions are proctored. The environment — Safe Exam Browser or your normal browser — is published on the event page before you register, and the two observe different things. The exam guide sets out exactly what each one does.
  • •Your camera runs and stays visible to you throughout. NO VIDEO AND NO AUDIO IS EVER RECORDED. We store still images only: one frame per interval from your camera, and in browser mode one frame from your shared screen. There is no continuous stream, no voice capture and no keystroke logging.
  • •A single higher-quality identity photo is captured at onboarding and kept as your reference image, so that later competitions can confirm it is you without re-capturing it each time.
  • •Still images from a sitting are deleted automatically 90 days after the competition. An event may publish a shorter period; none may publish a longer one without saying so on the event page.
  • •Face capture and face comparison are biometric processing. We use them only to confirm that the person sitting the exam is the person who registered, and only within InterFiRank. We do not sell this data, use it to train models, or share it with recruiters or any other third party.
  • •Evidence is accessible only to the reviewers who assess integrity, through signed short-lived links, and every access is logged. You can see your own integrity record, including how many images were captured and any flags raised, in your InterFiRank hub.

5. Results, publication and your name

  • •Results are published after every prize-eligible sitting has been reviewed by a person. We do not publish provisional ranks and there is no live leaderboard during a competition.
  • •Appearing on a public leaderboard is OPT-IN and off by default. If you do not opt in, your result still counts and still ranks — you are simply not named.
  • •Publishing your photograph alongside a result is a separate opt-in from publishing your name, and is also off by default.
  • •You can change your publicity choices at any time in your InterFiRank profile. A change applies going forward and to already-published leaderboards; it does not un-issue a certificate you have already shared.
  • •Certificates are verifiable by anyone holding the reference on them. The verification page shows your name, the competition, your rank, score and percentile — nothing else, and never a contact detail.

6. Prizes

  • •The prize table for a competition is published on its event page before registration opens and does not change afterwards.
  • •Prize values are stated in US dollars. Where a prize is fulfilled as a gift card in another currency, the conversion is made at the time of fulfilment and may differ from the published figure.
  • •You must submit a claim within 30 days of results being published. An unclaimed prize lapses after that; we will remind you, but the deadline is real.
  • •Claiming requires identity verification and a contact number, because our finance team confirms every prize by phone before it is fulfilled. We ask for the minimum needed to pay you.
  • •One prize per person per quarter, across all competitions.
  • •Any tax on a prize is yours. Depending on where you live, a prize may be reportable income, and we may be required to report or withhold. We are not able to give you tax advice.
  • •Where a rank is joint, the rules page governs how the prize for that rank is treated.

7. Integrity, disqualification and appeals

  • •Attempting to obtain, distribute or use question content in advance; sitting on someone else's behalf; using a second device, a second screen, a virtual machine or remote-control software; or entering under more than one account — any of these is grounds for disqualification.
  • •Disqualification removes you from that competition's leaderboard, withdraws any prize eligibility, and revokes any certificate already issued for it. A revoked certificate stops verifying.
  • •You may appeal any outcome — a score, a flag, a disqualification, a certificate or a prize decision — within 7 days, from the Appeals tab of your InterFiRank hub. Appeals are reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision.
  • •We publish an appeal outcome to you with a reason. We do not publish it to anyone else.

8. If a competition is cancelled or voided

  • •We may cancel a competition before it starts. Every registrant is emailed with the reason. Nothing is owed, because entry is free, and no result is recorded.
  • •We may void a competition that has already run if its integrity cannot be established — a leaked paper, a platform fault that affected the field. A voided competition produces no ranks, no certificates and no prizes, and we will say publicly that it was voided.
  • •Where a competition is voided through our fault, we will re-run it and every affected entrant keeps their seat.
  • •We do not reimburse costs incurred to enter — travel, equipment, connectivity or time.

9. Availability and liability

  • •We work hard to keep a competition available for its whole window, and we pre-scale for it, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If a fault on our side stops you finishing, tell us within the appeal window and we will look at your sitting individually.
  • •Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, InterviewFi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from a competition.
  • •Nothing here creates an employment relationship, a guarantee of any job outcome, or a promise that a recruiter will contact you.

10. Contact

  • •Questions about these terms, a result, a claim or your data go to support through your InterviewFi account, which is the fastest route because it arrives already linked to your registration.
  • •Data-protection requests — access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent to biometric processing — can be made from your account settings and are handled through the same route.

Prize competitions may be restricted where you live

Skill-contest and promotion law differs by country, and gift-card value cannot always cross a border. Any restriction on a specific competition is published on that competition's own page before registration opens.
InterFiRank

Open, proctored skill competitions. Every rank is published only after a human integrity review, and every certificate is independently verifiable.

Your camera stays on and visible during the exam. No video or audio is ever recorded — only periodic still images, deleted on the published schedule.
