Resume Studio builds a résumé from your Job Profile rather than asking you to write one from scratch. You choose a template, adjust what is included, and export.
Creating one
Start from your Job Profile and the studio drafts the sections for you: a summary, your experience, education, and skills. Everything is editable — the draft is a starting point, not a finished document.
You can keep several résumés. Most people end up with a general one and a few tailored to particular kinds of role.
Templates
Templates change layout, typography and emphasis, not content. A one-column template suits a dense history; a two-column one gives skills more prominence. Some are deliberately plain because some employers' systems parse plain layouts more reliably.
Switching template never loses content. What you have written stays; only its presentation changes.
Editing
Each section is edited in place. Two things are worth knowing:
- Dates are free text. Write them the way you would on paper — "September 2019" is fine, and so is "2019-09".
- Bullet points work best when each one names a result. "Reduced onboarding time from three weeks to four days" says more than "responsible for onboarding".
Exporting
Export as PDF or DOCX. The PDF is generated as text rather than as a picture of a page, which means it can be selected, searched and parsed by an employer's systems — including ours.
If you export, then edit, then export again, you get the edited version. There is no cache to clear.
